NEW ACM EXECUTIVE INSTALLED

Trinidadian broadcaster, Dale Enoch, is the new President of the Association of Caribbean MediaWorkers (ACM).

Enoch was elected unopposed at the Third Biennial General Meeting of the Association in Bridgetown, Barbados on Friday November 4.

First Vice President, Peter Richards (St Lucia/Trinidad), and Second Vice President, Bert Wilkinson (Guyana) retained their posts.

Former President, Wesley Gibbings, will serve the next two-year term as General-Secretary of the association. Assistant General-Secretary is veteran Surinamese journalist, Nita Ramcharan.

Floor Members are Jamaican journalist and media trainer Canute James and Grenadian journalist, Michael Bascombe.

In attendance were journalists and media organisations from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana
, Haiti, Jamaica, St Lucia, St Maarten, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.

During the meeting a handbook for Caribbean journalists on covering climate change issues was launched. The handbook was prepared by the ACM and regional experts and communicators.

The organisation also distributed "The Looming Storm" - its State of the Caribbean Media Report 2005.
